Dublin Zoo To Re-Open On Tuesday Morning

Dublin Zoo will re-open tomorrow (Tuesday) morning with new social distancing measures in place.

Tickets will only available online and must be pre-booked in advance.

So staff will not sell tickets at the gates.

A new one-way system is in place too.

While all internal/enclosed areas will be closed.

Also visitors will also be split into two daily sessions

  • A morning session from 09:30 to 13:00
  • An afternoon session from 14:00 to 17:30

Staff will limit the attendance at each of those sessions to 500 people.

Dublin Zoo Director: "Careful, Phased Re-Opening"

Meanwhile director Leo Oosterweghel said:

“Our priority during this reopening phase will be to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, visitors and the continued provision of world-class animal care."

He says it will be "a careful, phased reopening where we limit the number of entrants at any given time."

"These past weeks have been a very challenging time for Dublin Zoo."

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for the thousands of messages we have received."

Dublin Zoo closed on March 12th, in line with public health advice.
