A Dublin schoolboy who has become trapped in Gaza says he just wants to go home.
Sami Alagha was on holiday with his family, visiting relatives, when the conflict between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas erupted on October 7th.
While some aid has been allowed to enter Gaza, Palestinians have not been allowed to leave.
Sami said; "My life is in danger and I want to go back to Dublin. The border is closed so I can't get out of Gaza."
Israeli airstrikes continue to hit the Palestinian territory, with the death toll - according to the Hamas-run health ministry - now over 4,650.
"We're hearing a lot of rockets and bombs coming from...from everywhere. Very scary and I can't sleep very well," Sami added.
Ceasefire
It comes amid repeated calls for a ceasefire.
Tánaiste Micheál Martin, who's also the Foreign Affairs Minister, says there must be an acceleration in the supply of water, food and medical supplies to Gaza.
EU foreign ministers are meeting in Luxembourg today to discuss the matter.
Minister Martin says the suffering of innocent civilians, particularly children, is on a scale that requires an immediate end to the fighting.
He insists the European Union's stance on the conflict is becoming clearer following criticism of the EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
