A Dublin pub says a suggestion that it is homophobic is absolutely ludicrous.
A complaint was made about a vintage poster in Doyles Corner in Phibsboro.
It was branded "outdated", "sexist" and "misogynistic".
The pub is run by the Refresh Group, which has been a sponsor of Dublin Pride for the past three years.
“We have hosted dozens of gay societies, weddings and events", the group explained in a statement.
“To assert we as a business are homophobic is absolutely ludicrous".
The gay-owned firm promised to take down the poster if its customers agreed it was offensive.
More than 840 people took part in a poll it ran on Facebook, with 84% agreeing the poster should stay.
The company added that the poster "is part our our gay history and is reflective of another era".
"It is meant to be old skool tongue in cheek".
