Dublin Port has announced a 400 million euro project to redevelop part of the site that will include a new bridge over the River Liffey.
The plans for the Poolbeg peninsula, called the 3FM Project, will involve a new terminal with capacity for 360,000 containers a year.
Dublin Port Company has today launched the 3FM Project, the third & final Masterplan project needed to complete the development of #DublinPort & bring it to its ultimate & final capacity by 2040.

CEO of Dublin Port Company, Eamonn O'Reilly, says the project will also involve three new public parks totalling around six hectares;
"That would be bigger than Merrion Square, it would be about a third to a half the size of Ringsend Park which is close by."
He also says they also have plans for over five kilometres of new cycle paths and pedestrian routes that would link the parks together.
The port is expected to look for planning permission in early 2023, with construction due to begin in 2026.
