Dublin's new City Council is planning to pedestrianise more city centre streets.
At their first meeting since being elected, Councillors agreed to look again at creating a public plaza at College Green.
They also agreed to continue to pedestrianise more streets.
They include banning vehicles from Drury Street, South William Street, Moore Street and Dame Lane.
However, concerns have been raised about access to car-parks and business in those areas.
Labour Party Councillor Rebecca Moynihan said those issues would have to be ironed out first.
"That's part of the consultation and planning processes.
I definitely think that pedestrianising the city and making it more pedestrian and cyclist friendly is that way to go", she said.
Councillor Moynihan described the amount of cars currently passing through the city centre as "unsustainable".
A plan to ban all vehicles from College Green collapsed last year, after years of back and forth between interest groups.
