Tom Brabazon has been elected as the new Lord Mayor of Dublin.
The Fianna Fail Councillor was voted in last night by 34 votes to 26 at a meeting of the city council.
The former deputy lord mayor takes over from Paul McAuliffe who was elected to the Dáil in the recent general election.
While Racheal Batten has been selected as the Deputy Lord Mayor.

Tom Brabazon says he has a number of priorities over his four month tenure in the role:
"I suppose there's lobbying hard in respect of housing would be one priority, the other one is to try and improve access to the city for all our citizens."
He says he will also continue working on some of the initiatives that were already started by former Lord Mayor Paul McAuliffe such as the BreatheLife campaign and the scrambler bike initiative.
Councillor Brabazon was first co-opted onto Dublin City Council in 2003 and has served as Deputy Lord Mayor since June 2019. He represents the Donaghmede Local Electoral Area.
Independent councillor and CEO of Inner City Helping Homeless, Anthony Flynn, also stood for election for the top job.
Meanwhile a number of new members were co-opted onto the council. They have filled the seats left vacant by councillors recently elected to the Dáil.
