'14 Henrietta Street' is inviting people who lived in a tenement or knew someone who did, to share their memories.

The social history museum has launched its 'Your Tenement Memories' initiative.

The aim is to connect with tenement residents who were relocated from the city centre to suburbs such as Cabra, Drimnagh, Ballymun, Crumlin, Ballyfermot, and Finglas which began in the 1930s up to the 1970s.

The CEO of Dublin City Council Culture Company, Iseult Byrne says the museum is a "special place for people that wouldn’t normally see themselves represented in history and is a house where they can come to have a chat, reminisce, and feel like they’ve been transported back to their own house, or that of their mother or grandmother.

We want people to share their memories of tenement Dublin and the suburban shift that followed, and know that we’ll look after and preserve them for future generations.”

The museum is hosting a series of open days throughout the next two months, with full details available here: https://14henriettastreet.ie/about/get-involved/get-involved/
