Dublin has seen its wettest November in 17 years and the month isn't even over yet.
A number of low pressure systems have dumped more rain than usual on the capital.
Paul Moore is a Meteorological Officer in the climate section of Met Eireann;
"Up until yesterday Dublin had 171.5 millimeters, that's 235 percent of the normal November rainfall."
He says its the highest rainfall for the month since 2002.
Usually Dublin is partially shielded from low pressure systems by the Wicklow and Dublin mountains but a change in the winds, which have been coming from the east in recent weeks, has enhanced the rainfall in Dublin.
The Phoenix Park station recorded rain levels that were 203 percent the normal amount, while Dublin Casement was at 191 percent.
Weather Outlook
The wet weather is set to make way for cooler conditions over the coming days.
Met Éireann says it will be much drier than normal and colder than average due to frosty nights.
