Banning private jets from Irish air space makes 'common sense'.
The calls have come following a discussion at a recent meeting of South Dublin County Council.
There are fears over pollution and meeting climate targets by allowing private jets to enter the country.
South Dublin County Councillor, Liam Sinclair, brought the motion forward at a recent meeting but it had a mixed reaction.
Those who aren't in favour of the move feel banning jets could harm businesses and the economy.

But Councillor Sinclair says private aeroplanes cause 'an awful lot of damage' as Ireland looks to meet its climate targets.
Sinclair also added that the government jet should be used 'as little as possible'.
"For example, Leo Messi has a private jet. In June and August last year, he made 52 trips.," Sinclair says.
"That emits approximately 150 tonnes of carbon. It would take the average French person 150 years to emit that much carbon."
"That'll give you an idea of how much damage can be done with these."
