Dublin's Good Times
One Dublin community group will receive a grant share of this year’s €100,000 Coca-Cola Thank You Fund.
The Yard @ Solas Project, a social enterprise based in Dublin 8, will share the grant with 12 other community groups across Ireland.
Naoise CulhaneThe Yard @ Solas aims to equip young people with skills and knowledge that will empower them to fulfil their personal and professional potential.
Each member of the Yard Crew receives hands-on work experience, learning everything from woodwork skills, sales and marketing to the ins and outs of running a social enterprise.
Future plans for The Yard include a Workplace Readiness Programme, which will give young people training and development to help prepare them for a return to work.
Now in its eleventh year, over 280 non-profit organisations across the island of Ireland applied for the Fund, under the categories of education and training, diversity and inclusion in young people and those taking an innovative approach to sustainability and environmental leadership.
Since 2011, the Coca-Cola Thank You Fund has donated €1,255,000 to over 100 non-profit organisations across the island of Ireland involved in the delivery of youth targeted community, social and education programmes.
