The air quality in Dublin today is 'very poor' today according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
According to the EPA index "very poor" levels of air quality can cause sore or dry throat, sore eyes or a tickly cough.
The agency says the deterioration is due to very fine dust in the air, and advises elderly people, or those with asthma, or heart problems to avoid strenuous physical activity.
The current 'very poor' status in #Dublin and 'fair' status in several other regions is due to high levels of particulate matter (very fine dust) in our air
