Public toilets in various locations around the city will be open from Monday.

It follows concerns about the lack of facilities for people in the city centre.

Places where members of the public could ordinarily wash their hands aren't available.

That's because coffee shops, restaurants and other hospitality businesses are limiting occupancy.

While some others, like pubs and bars, remain closed for the time being.

Public Toilets To Be Ready From Monday

Dublin City Council Chief Executive Brendan Kenny confirmed today at a press briefing.

"It's all about making people feel as comfortable and safe as possible while coming into the city."

"A key part of that is access to public toilets and we've installed public toilets at the top of Grafton Street this morning."

"Others are going into place over the weekend."

"Those public toilet facilities will be in place from Monday."
