The head of Dublin City Council says while all capital projects have stopped during the pandemic, he hopes they can get back on track, including the white-water rafting plans.
The controversial 22 million euro facility at the IFSC was given the go-ahead last year.
DCC CEO Owen Keegan says it will be important, when we get beyond the current phase that there are construction projects;
"If there is to be a tourism sector in the future, and I hope there is its a very important part of this city's economy, then investing in tourist infrastructure will be important and that project will be ready and waiting at the appropriate time to be implemented."
Restricting Cars
Meanwhile, Owen Keegan says they're still considering plans to restrict cars in the capital to allow for better social distancing as the city reopens. But he says nothing is definite as of yet.
Some of the proposals include closing College Green and banning cars from certain areas after 11am each morning.
The council has shut closed loading bays, widened footpaths, put in protected cycle routes and introduced shorter waiting times at traffic signals to help pedestrians and cyclists get around more easily during the coronavirus crisis.
