Dublin city has been ranked the 5th most deprived area in the country.
Dublin, Waterford and Cork are among some of the most deprived areas according to the National Deprivation Index.
While Meath, Kildare, Galway and Clare scored among the least deprived.
The report by Trinity College looked at census data from 2006, 2011 and 2016.
It found that Ballymun, Tallaght and Priorswood are among the electoral districts which are suffering most in Dublin.
Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown is the least deprived. Residents on the southside live seven years longer than those of the same generation in Limerick city.
Areas that have seen improvements over the ten years include Arran Quay, Merchants Quay and Cherry Orchard.
The study measured each area's deprivation area by using specific indicators including unemployment, local authority housing and car ownership.
