Dublin Bus continues to be the most used public transport service in Ireland.
It carried 138 million passengers during 2019.
For the seventh year running, numbers using public transport have risen.
Figures show 290 million journeys were made on Dublin Bus, Bus Éireann, Irish Rail, Luas and Go-Ahead services in 2019.
The National Transport Authority says that's an increase of 24 million compared to the year before.
It has described the increase as "by far the largest" since the NTA was founded.
Public Transport Numbers 2019
During 2019, numbers using Irish Rail reached 50 million for the first time ever.
While the number of journeys taken by Luas increased by 15% to over 48 million.
Anne Graham, CEO of the National Transport Authority, believes the green movement has a role to play.
She said people are "behaving in a way that will reduce emissions, improve air quality and protect their local environment".
"The priority now must be to deliver on those improvements in our public transport infrastructure that are provided for under the Climate Action Plan and Project Ireland 2040", she said.
The National Transport Authority has name-checked MetroLink and BusConnect as projects its prioritising.
It's also investing in hybrid buses and electric trains and other clean technologies.
