Residents living along the 47 and 114 bus routes in Dublin 18 say they are fed up with the service.
They cover Stepaside, Glenamuck, Sandyford and Carrickmines.
There has been a massive population explosion in the area in recent years.
Locals say the service provided doesn't match the demand anymore.
Labour Councillor for the area Lettie McCarthy said it's time Dublin Bus catches up with the growth of the area.
She said "There would be thousands of families living there now but we still have the service we had 20,30, 40 years ago and that's not good enough."
The Luas Is Not Enough
The area is serviced by the Luas but Councillor McCarthy says that is no substitute for a decent bus service.
"Everyone is not living beside the Luas and everybody does not want to go in the direction the Luas is going, so we do need a bus service.
"We need both." she added.
Locals say the services are irregular and some times buses just don't turn up when they are meant to.
Councillor McCarthy says workers tell her that they are often late for work.
She says employers probably don't believe that the bus simply didn't come.
Councillor McCarthy has called on the Minister for Transport Shane Ross to address the issue once and for all.
