Dublin is now the 14th most congested city in the world.
A new global study says traffic in the capital has gotten worse in the last year.
The Tom Tom Traffic Index studied traffic across 403 cities last year.
Dublin came 14th on the list with the traffic growing by 1 percent in 2018.
The most congested roads are Dorset Street, Drumcondra Road and Church Street Upper.
Heiko Schilling, head of navigation at TomTom says despite better efforts in relation to public transport, there are more people travelling into town.
He said: 'The city is actually quite successful but what we noticed is there's a lot of new businesses opening up quite close to the city centre.
'Despite the city making massive efforts and there have been quite some investments in new road and rail infrastructure, congestion remains high.'
Dubliners are now spending an average of 45 per cent more time travelling in traffic than they should under normal circumstances.
