The head of the Land Development Agency says he's not surprised by Dublin's poor ranking as a city to raise a family.
The capital has come 120th out of 150 international cities as part of a survey by German-based relocation company Movinga.
16 factors were considered including housing, education, employment rates, and general affordability, as well as family legislation such as the amount of paid parental leave and whether a city is inclusive for same-sex parents.
Dublin rated poorly when it came to the likes of housing affordability, transport, paid parental leave and living costs.
The Irish capital ranked lower than the likes of Chicago, Liverpool and Bratislava but higher than Rome, Moscow and Doha. Helsinki in Finland claimed the top spot.
John Moran is Chair of the Land Development Agency;
"We all know the problems our capital city is having and the need to sort of re-engineer it to make it more livable under lots of these headings."
