A bird scaring device in Dublin's docklands, that plays out bird calls on a loop 24-hours a day, has led to complaints from locals.
The Central Bank says the device is needed to protect equipment on it's roof and to protect birds according to the Irish Times.
However nearby residents say the repeated sounds are keeping them awake at night.
They have also raised concerns that the sounds may actually be deterring smaller birds from coming into the area.
Local independent councillor Mannix Flynn says the noise is like walking into the zoo or Jurassic Park;
"The squawking of birds of prey, really really loud, coming across the water on the Liffey. Really impacting on neighbours and streets, particularly in the evening time when there's less traffic."
Investigation
Dublin city council says its Air Quality Monitoring and Noise Control Unit has launched an investigation to try and identify the source.
It says it will work to identify the person responsible, bring it to their attention and attempt to resolve the problem.
The local authority says if it persists monitoring will be carried out to determine a noise nuisance.
