A delay to the opening of indoor dining is "not inevitable" according to the Tánaiste.
NPHET will meet today to give advice to government on the spread of the Delta variant.
This lunchtime Ministers are awaiting a series of advice before making a decision on July the 5th re-opening.
Leo Varadkar has given some hope to restaurants and pubs, saying a delay to re-opening is not inevitable.
But the Tánaiste has said they'll be careful.
Questions are being asked at cabinet about how effective a two week delay in re-opening would be on limiting the spread of the Delta variant.
The fear, according to CEO of the Restaurants Association of Ireland Adrian Cummins, is one delay leads to another.

Indeed some Ministers have been asking how could they guarantee any opening up on July 19th if the number of new cases is set to further rise because of Delta.
There are plans for the cabinet sub-committee to meet tonight, ahead of an announcement tomorrow.
