Nine more coronavirus-related deaths have also been announced taking the national death toll to 1,763.
Meanwhile, seven more cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed taking the national total to 25,826.
The acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn said eight of the deaths announced this evening are late notifications of deaths that took place in April, May and June.
Health officials also announced that the reproductive number of the virus has fallen in the past week.
The R number was between 1.4 and 1.8 this time last week. It is now between 1 and 1.4.
Chair of the COVID-19 modelling group Professor Phillip Nolan said the figures have stabilised.
“It seems as if we have achieved some level of stability just in the course of the last week,” he said.
“On average for this Wednesday, looking back over the preceding five days we were confirming 18 cases a day. Last week that was 19 cases a day and it had risen to 19.
“The rate of admission to intensive care is also remaining low with about one admission every five days.”
