Dublin City Council has announced a proposal to pedestrianise Capel Street.
The council says the aim is to allow hospitality businesses on the street to re-open with outdoor dining.
The plan is now open for public consultation, and if it's approved it will provide for 1300 metres squared of additional public space.
It includes making the area of Capel Street between Ryders Row and Parnell Street traffic-free on a 24/7 basis, and the removal of all on-street parking between Ormond Quay and Mary Street.
The public consultation is open until May 14th, and the council says if there is support for it, work will begin later this month.
The plan is part of the wider programme being led by the Office of City Recovery.
