A man has died after being shot in the head in North Dublin.
It happened in the Kilbarron Avenue area of Coolock at half three this afternoon.
The attack took place near to the home of one of two 22-year-old friends shot dead in separate attacks last week.
Local Labour Senator Aodhán Ó Ríordáin says gun crime in Dublin is "out of control".
"This isn't normal. Children should not grow up in a community where this is happening".
"People are literally being shot and killed in the middle of the afternoon in Dublin's North Side".
"We've had shots fired outside shopping centres, we've had pipe bombs. This situation is completely out of control", he said.
