Conor Hourihane says he's 'absolutely delighted' to commit his future to Aston Villa.

The Republic of Ireland midfielder has signed a new contract with the Premier League newcomers.

Hourihane has played 111 games for Villa since joining them in 2017, scoring 21 goals and providing 16 assists.

The 28-year-old midfielder played a key role in their promotion back to the English top-flight, scoring in their playoffs semi-final victory against rivals West Brom.

He's also earned 11 caps for Ireland over the last two years and netted his first international goal in the Euro 2020 qualifier win against Georgia earlier this year.

"I'm absolutely delighted. It's exciting times for the club with us moving into the Premier League," said the Cork man of his new deal.

"I've waited for all my career for the opportunity to play at this level and the time has now arrived.

"I'm really looking forward to the season ahead. It's a big period for me personally as I've come all the way from League Two to reach the top.

"I'm glad to sign and look forward to being here for seasons ahead."
