More than 50 street poles in Dublin city centre have been coated with special paint to keep them free of stickers.
The city council has recently scrubbed clean over 240 poles after a public domain survey highlighted a proliferation of labels.
The clean-up happened in August and September on O’Connell Street, Aston Quay and Temple Bar.
The Irish Times reports 55 street poles in Temple Bar have since had sticker-proof paint applied as part of a pilot project. That's despite fans telling the paper that they're mini artworks.
The special paint helps stop labels from sticking to the poles.
