A child has been seriously injured following a hit-and-run in Dublin.
The incident occurred at around 8.30pm yesterday evening on Fortunestown Lane in Tallaght.
The young boy received serious injuries when he was hit by a car which failed to remain at the scene.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene.
The child was taken to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information to come forward.
They would like people who were in the vicinity of Fortunestown Lane between 8pm and 9pm yesterday evening to make contact.
Gardaí are particularly appealing to any road users who may have camera or dash-cam footage and who were driving in the Fortunestown Lane area yesterday evening to make it available to them.
