This would have been epic!
Maggie Wheeler, who played Janice in Friends, is at the FriendsFest in London this week. She was speaking to Digital Spy when she admitted that there was almost a Janice spin-off show after she had finished Friends.
She said, "I would have absolutely loved a spin-off show for that character. I'm not sure why it never happened. Those things are not in my hands but I guess it was not meant to be – it didn't happen."
Maggie then revealed that a British writer friend of hers pitched a comedy reality show with Janice as a therapist. She said, "She approached me - we saw each other in the States and she said, 'Wouldn't that be a great idea?'. And she had the thought to do it, but we never did."
Speaking about the character and the chances of spin-off actually happening she said, "I think we're part of each other and it's a character that's brought a lot of joy and laughter to people. If the right circumstance were offered and the people behind Janice asked me to do something, I'm sure I would be there in a heartbeat. It's not too late for a spinoff!"
