A bigger price to pay than anyone expected!
The priest who allowed Sabrina Carpenter to film her music video in a New York church has been stripped of his duties.
Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello was relieved of "any pastoral oversight or governance role" at the church, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn said in a statement.
Church officials launched an investigation after Sabrina Carpenter released a video for her song Feather in October 2023, featuring scenes of a provocative nature filmed inside the church.
In the video Sabrina is dancing around the church in a short black dress, and also shows images of profanity on the crucifix.
The Diocese said the investigation found other instances of mismanagement beyond the music video that appalled some, including unapproved financial transfers.
"I am saddened to share that investigations conducted by Alvarez & Marsal and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP have uncovered evidence of serious violations of Diocesan policies and protocols," Bishop Robert Brennan said in the statement, according to CBS News.
The statement also noted that a replacement for the Monsignor had already been found.
Mr Gigantiello’s had his administrative powers taken away from him back in November of last year shortly after the video was released.
