Is this how people get their kicks these days?

Police were called to the home of Jennifer Aniston last Friday night as it’s believed she fell victim to a “swatting” incident.

The police received a concerning phone call from someone was concerned about their "friend" but would only provide an address - which turned out to belong to the Friends star.

Law enforcement told TMZ that they got a call from someone allegedly concerned about their friend, saying that they were "not doing well" and alluding to depression and other worrying things.

The caller stayed anonymous and requested the police carry out a welfare check on their "friend," providing an address but no name.

As a result, when the police arrived at Jennifer’s home not long after midnight, they were met by her very surprised security.

The police checked in on the 55-year-old actress who confirmed she was completely fine.

Quickly the police realised that they’d been “swatted”, a prank that’s already been played on a few Hollywood celebrities.

As you may have guessed, “swatting” is an act of harassment and this incident is being investigated further to find out who was behind it.

Along with the Morning Show star, other reported victims of swatting include Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Clint Eastwood, Tom Cruise and more.

After the police clarified the situation with Jennifer, they reportedly recorded the actress' address so that, if someone calls about a potential situation there again, they can contact her security before sending resources out.
