"He has a relationship and a foot on the ground to the real and to nature and he always did, even when he was super famous," Miley said of her dad, who rose to stardom in 1992 with his hit Achy Breaky Heart.
“I'm grateful for being able to watch him ahead of me. He's almost given me this map. And there's a map of what to do and what not to do, and he's guided me on both."
"I also inherited the narcissism from my father," she continued.
The singer also credited her father with helping her creative side.
“My dad, as a creative and as an artist in the way that his brain works, has always made me feel safer in my own mind because we're very similar in our ideas," she continued. "So I think a lot of his perspective on reality and on life, I've inherited from him, more so than the way that I was raised — which really, my mom raised me."
"Honestly, my mom is my hero," Miley said of Tish Cyrus, who also appeared on the special.
Billy Ray and Tish were married for 28 years until they split in 2022. Their children seemed to take sides in the divorce as when the pair each remarried, some of them were noticeably absent from their weddings.
Billy married Australian singer Firerose in October of last year, however it was just recently announced that the pair are already calling it quits.
Tish Cyrus on the other hand, married Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell last August and as far as we know, things are still going strong.
Sounds a bit dysfunctional alright!
My Next Guest Needs No Introduction is available to watch on Netflix.
