Conor McGregor sent the internet into overdrive last night after he announced his retirement from MMA. The Dubliner's post, which stated he's "decided to retire young", was retweeted more times than when Kobe Bryant announced his retirement from basketball.
According to Twitter, there have been over 310K mentions of McGregor on the social network since the announcement last night. Over 1K Tweets were sent per minute in the moments after the Tweet was posted.
McGregor also picked up an extra 100,000 followers in the aftermath.
