Gwyneth Paltrow has won her ski crash trial in which a retired optometrist called Terry Sanderson alleges that she crashed into him, causing 4 broken ribs and significant psychological damage.
We have to feel a degree of pity for the 76-year-old as he probably assumed that if he sued a rich movie star, that she'd just write him a big fat check and think no more about it.
Gwyneth was having absolutely none of it though!
She let the case go to court and countersued for a symbolic ONE dollar where Terry Sanderson was suing her for $300,000. (When he originally took the case to court back in 2019, he originally sued for $1.3million)
For the last week and a bit while the trial has been going on, we've been fed some tidbits here and there of what's going down in the courtroom, from the funny to the bizarre.
From Sanderson's lawyer appearing to be a bit of a Gwyneth super fan and asking her if she's friends with Taylor Swift, to the defendant alleging that he hasn't been able to enjoy wine tastings since the accident.
If anything this whole trial has been a fascinating insight into the absurdity of rich people!

The trial went on for 8 days and yesterday afternoon it all came to an end when the jury came to a unanimous decision that Gwyneth did not cause the crash in 2016.
As she got up to leave the courtroom, Gwyneth went over to the man who tried to sue her and said "I wish you well". Anyone else find that vaguely chilling?
