We're a bit disappointed we're not going to lie 😅
Did you see the picture of Pope Francis wearing the gigantic white puffer coat? It originated on Reddit and it went viral on Twitter over the last couple of days.
It had everyone on the internet absolutely reeling. People reeling at his holiness's new drip and of course, a few East 17 jokes 😂
Baby if you’ve got to go and pray
Don’t think I can take the pain
Oh won’t you pray another day pic.twitter.com/AYWNRTnfpg— Steve 'please buy the book' O'Rourke (@steveohrourke) March 25, 2023
Even when it transpired that the image was AI generated and therefore completely fake, the jokes kept coming regardless!

The image was created by Midjourney, an aritificial intelligence tool used to generate incredibly realistic - yet fake - images. Midjourney is also responsible for the fake images of Donald Trump getting arrested which also had people fooled during the week.
These photos of Donald Trump getting arrested are too much 💀💀 pic.twitter.com/0QSErlQpuw

After it transpired that the pope's sick new style was in fact, not real, it had people worrying about the future of AI and the technology's ability to have us believe anything we see.
I thought the pope’s puffer jacket was real and didnt give it a second thought. no way am I surviving the future of technology

Simply amazed that I thought this was real last night (albeit a few pints in). First time I’ve ever been completely fooled by AI. A personal milestone really. Looking forward to the total dissolution of meaning! pic.twitter.com/rr8iV5Sxma

What will the internet be fooled by next? We all need to be on high alert!
