Ed Sheeran has finally released new music for the first time in over a year!
The Galway Girl singer took to social media promising a 'Christmas surprise'.
The singer announced last year that he would be taking a break with a post on Instagram which read
“Hello all. Gonna go on another break again.
“The Divide era and tour changed my life in so many ways, but now it’s all over it’s time to go out and see some more of the world.
“I’ve been a bit non-stop since 2017 so I’m just gonna take a breather to travel, write and read".

Sheeran just recently became a father to a baby girl with his wife Cherry in September, named Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.
Lyra's name was inspired by Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials book series, which Ed has been quoted saying "best books I've ever read".
Now it seems Ed has decided it's time to come back releasing a brand new song today called Afterglow.
He posted a photo on Instagram yesterday telling fans he would be dropping a Christmas Present, which of course made fans go crazy online.
