"I'm a very proud Irishman"
Cillian Murphy became the first Irish-born actor to win the Oscar for best actor at last night Oscars in LA.
Oppenheimer took home over 7 awards in different categories.
As Murphy walked to the stage to collect his award, he was greeted with praise and standing ovations.

Accepting the award for best actor Cillian said: "I'm a little bit overwhelmed"
Cillian being the humble cork man that he is added: "every single crew member, every single cast member, you carried me through"
Murphy also thank his family on the night including his parents, Brendan and Mary, his wife Yvonne McGuinness, and his children Malachy and Aran.
Murphy wrapped up his speech by saying:
"We made a film about the man who created the atomic bomb, and for better or for worse, we're all living in Oppenheimer's world, so I would really like to dedicate this to the peacemakers everywhere".
