The saga continues
Britney Spears' father Jamie Spears has lost sole control over his daughter's estate.
This week, a judge ruled that Jamie would no longer be Britney's sole conservator.
Last year, the 'Oops I Did It Again' hitmaker filed a petition with Los Angeles Superior Court to remove her dad, Jamie, as the sole conservator over her estate.
Britney proposed a financial institution take place of her father to handle her assets.
Her longtime attorney, Sam Ingham, said last year that Britney was “afraid” of Jamie and urged the judge to let a professional bank handle her finances.
Judge Brenda Penny denied Britney’s petition but did appoint Bessemer Trust as a co-conservator along with Jamie.
The decision comes following the public outcry over new documentary Framing Britney Spears, which follows her life and recent legal battles.
Jamie Spears was first granted control over Britney's estate in 2008 after she suffered a mental health breakdown.
Celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Sarah Jessica Parker have joined fans in supporting the #FreeBritney movement.
