She's been open and honest about the future of her career.
Acclaimed Australian actress Cate Blanchett has said that she is “giving up” acting to do other things “with [her] life”.
The 55-year-old Oscar winner has had standout roles in Hollywood blockbusters and independent films over the span of her career.
However, in an interview with Radio Times, Cate suggested she was uncertain over calling herself an “actress”, saying: “It’s because I’m giving up.”
She added: “My family roll their eyes every time I say it, but I mean it. I am serious about giving up acting … [There are] a lot of things I want to do with my life”.

Despite her success, Cate has previously admitted that she isn't completely comfortable with her level of fame.
She told Radio Times: "I've always felt like I'm on the periphery of things, so I'm always surprised when I belong anywhere.
"I go with curiosity into whatever environment that I'm in, not expecting to be accepted or welcomed. I've spent a lifetime getting comfortable with the feeling of being uncomfortable."
She added: “No one is more boring to me than myself and I find other people much more interesting. I find myself profoundly dull.”
The actress first gained major attention for her role in the 1998 film 'Elizabeth' and later starred in blockbusters like 'The Lord of the Rings', 'The Aviator', which earned her a Best Supporting Actress award, and 'Blue Jasmine', which led her to a Best Actress accolade. Most recently, she took on the role of Kathryn St. Jean in Steven Soderbergh's thriller 'Black Bag'.
The Mirror has reported that Cate is now set to explore the world of radio.
