One person was injured by a firework in Dublin last night as emergency services dealt with Halloween callouts.
By early yesterday evening the DFB had responded to 49 fire calls, 21 of which were Halloween related.
In total the service saw 186 fire calls, 133 of which were bonfire related. While a man suffered hand injuries on the northside of the city from a firework.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer with DFB, Greg O'Dwyer, says it wasn't as busy as previous years;
"Mainly due to three main factors, one the weather obviously kept people in, but down to really the local authorities clearing stock piles of bonfire materials."
He says more people are doing the responsible thing and going to organised events.
There were 483 ambulance calls, significantly more than last year, with the reopening of nightclubs and late bars believed to be a factor.
In Clondalkin gas cyclinders were found in a bonfire and in Killiney firefighters attended a blaze where petrol was being thrown on top.
While crews had to put out a car after it was driven onto a bonfire in Liffey Valley.
The majority of our #Halloween fire calls have now been dealt with. Earlier firefighters extinguished a car that had been driven onto a bonfire in Liffey Valley. #SafeAtSamhain #halloween2021 pic.twitter.com/PUmPZOPJxd

The DFB also extinguished a large bonfire in Crumlin, as well as in Shankill and Rathfarnham stopping them from spreading to nearby vegetation.
Working closely with Gardaí, a large bonfire was extinguished and removed in Crumlin tonight.
While we wanted everyone to enjoy their #Halloween celebrations, if a fire was dangerous we would intervene to extinguish it.
