There are calls for community wardens to patrol the streets of Dublin and fine people for parking illegally.
They would also be in charge of fining people for littering or not picking up their dog poo.
Green party councillor Carolyn Moore thinks it would help make Dublin streets safer and cleaner.
She said: ''We want to see more visibility of people doing these kind of things on our roads. We think that acts as a more effective deterrent for people who are tended to commit these offences or think that they're just parking their car for five minutes or just throwing a bit of litter on the ground or there just not picking up after their dog.''
There are currently dog wardens in charge of fining people for dog fouling but just one person has been fined for this since 2019.
