The company that runs the Luas is being called on to run a fresh public safety campaign.
It follows the deaths of two pedestrians who were hit by trams in Dublin in the last six weeks.
A woman died close to Tallaght Hospital, when she was struck at Cookstown Way in February.
On Sunday, a man was killed when he was hit by a Luas at Belgard.
Labour's Transport Spokesperson feels people need to be reminded of the dangers of walking near tram lines.
Senator Kevin Humphreys said:
"It is important... that the necessary awareness of road safety around light rail is not forgotten by all road users".
He wants The National Transport Authority, Dublin City Council, Transdev and the Department of Transport to work together on a public safety awareness campaign for pedestrians and drivers along Luas routes.
"It is time to increase public safety awareness on our roads and help keep everyone from pedestrians to drivers and passengers as safe as possible", Sentaor Humpherys added.
