There has been reports of further "breakdowns" in talks over the National Children's Hospital. Officials fear this could lead to the current completion date "slipping further".
Another rift between the contractors 'BAM' and the development board is the main reason behind the delays according to The Irish Times.
It's been reported that contractors have refused to meet with board members and a company hired to review the progress of works on the site were 'shut out' for six weeks.
However, a construction spokesperson for BAM told the paper it 'has fully engaged with the board, and will continue to do so'.
Construction So Far
Currently just 27 of 300 hospital rooms have been completed at the new hospital, on the grounds of St. James' Hospital.
The hospital was originally priced at €650 million. It now has a price tag of €2 billion and government officials have warned it may not be open until 2025.
