The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced a three-week lockdown as part of tough new measures to slow the spread of COVID-19.
All shops selling non-essential goods are to close while people are only allowed to go outside for a small number of reasons.
These include shopping, for one form of exercise a day, for a medical appointment or to help a vulnerable person.
People can also go to work, but only when it is "absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home".
Additionally, people should not be meeting friends or family members they don't live with.
In an address to the nation tonight, Mr Johnson said police have been given the powers to issue fines to anyone not following the rules, as well as to break up gatherings.
He said that the restrictions would be under constant review and would be examined again in three weeks' times.

Meanwhile, a third person has died in Northern Ireland after testing positive for coronavirus.
That brings the overall number of deaths in the UK to 336 - an increase of 54 since yesterday.
