Bewley's Cafe on Grafton Street has reopened its doors.

It closed temporarily in March, but two months later owners told staff that the cafe would close permanently due to issues with rent.

However an agreement was since reached with the landlord to allow the famous landmark to reopen.

The cafe has reduced its capacity significantly.

Only 40 seats are available, but it's hoped to increase that to 200 in the coming weeks.

Before the pandemic, it would have been able to seat up to 400 people.

Managing Director Col Campbell says the reduction is to allow staff and customers to come back safely:

"We're looking to make people feel comfortable with the experience and that includes the staff."
