More than €1.5 million euro has been collected through parking fees at one Dublin hospital.
Beaumont Hospital was earning almost €30,000 per week through pay and display charges in 2019.
The Royal College of Surgeons Ireland hospital group collected more than €3 million from its car parks in the year.
Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown took in €597,400 from its car park, while Our Lady of Lourdes in Drogheda Co Louth earned €401,920.
Sinn Féin's Ruairí Ó Murchú obtained the figures and says the cost of the fees is not fair on patients:.
"The government have it in the programme for government that they are looking at a cap, but it's all well and good having that as a promise, we need to see action, delivery on it."
