We see the vision!
Barry Keoghan is hot stuff in Hollywood now, following his much talked about role in Saltburn last year, and an Oscar-nominated performance in Banshees of Inisherin.
He’s also set to star in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie opposite fellow countryman Cillian Murphy.

Now it appears he has his sights set on a Pogues biopic to play iconic singer Shane McGowan.
That’s according to Victoria Mary Clarke, the widow of Shane McGowan.
She recently appeared on Kevin Dundon and Caoimhe Young's podcast Under The Grill, and she spoke about the possibility of her late husband’s life being adapted for a film.
“We had worked on a movie long before he died and that’s still in the works."
“We did talk to Barry Keoghan about playing Shane and he’s keen to play Shane," she added
But Victoria Mary Clarke did admit she found the concept of a biopic about Shane a bit strange.
“I think it’d be really weird. Personally, I’m very vain so I would probably be very critical and be thinking: ‘Oh, they don’t look quite as good as I would want them to look’.”
It’s coming up to the one year anniversary of Shane McGowan’s death, who passed away on the 30th of November 2023.
With this in mind, Victoria added that it might be “a bit soon” to be considering a Pogues biopic.
