The artist who painted a mural of the state's Chief Medical Officer in Dublin says he has received a number of abusive messages since it was unveiled earlier this week.
Niall O'Loughlin's piece, which depicts Dr Tony Holohan as Superman, was painted on to Devitt's pub on Camden street.
The artist says there was no political agenda behind the piece and his only aim was to make people smile.
However, it has since been defaced, while Mr O'Loughlin says the level of hatred directed at him by a very small group of people has been unreal.
