One of the most famous Christmas songs is getting (another) redo!
Believe it or not, it's been 40 years since the original Band Aid recording of the song Do The Know It’s Christmas.
On November 25 1984, Bob Geldof and Midge Ure gathered the biggest names in music at the time and got them to record the now iconic festive tune to raise money for the Ethiopian famine appeal, brought together by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure.
To mark the 40th anniversary, a new documentary, The Making Of Do They Know It's Christmas?, unearths 75 minutes of original footage, showing how the song was recorded over the course of one day at a studio in London.
In addition to the documentary, 2024 version of Do They Know It's Christmas? is set to be released, and will feature some of the original singers as well as some newer artists.
The track will feature voices from Band Aid 1984 including George Michael, Sting and Boy George, alongside the likes of Harry Styles, Chris Martin, the Sugababes, and Ed Sheeran, who appeared on the Band Aid 20 and Band Aid 30 versions in 2004 and 2014.
It will also feature some of the original artists, singing alongside the versions of their younger selves!
We look forward to hearing it! ❄
