David Letterman was spotted out and about in Dublin yesterday.
The well-known American TV personality paid a visit to Cavistons, the famous food emporium in Glasthule, and had a chat with the owner Peter.
Mark Caviston said his father was "delighted" to meet the late-night TV legend.
"We had a bit of fun with him this morning, he's a very nice man. He just landed out of the blue."
Mark added that his family had grown up watching David Letterman, who made his late night talk show debut in 1982 with Late Night with David Letterman on NBC.
"You never think that these chaps will be out in Glasthule. I think he was touring the area so he just popped in."
He said that Letterman bought some oysters and cheese during his visit to the famous fish shop!
Though he's now retired from his network late-night talk shows in America, in recent years David Letterman has been fronting a Netflix special called My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.
