The number of vehicles clamped in Dublin city last year increased by 12 per cent as covid restrictions eased.
39,917 vehicles had their wheels locked in 2021. The figures from Dublin city council were up over 4,300 on 2020.
2,868 appeals were lodged over the clamps while 475 were upheld.
Clarendon Street at the back of the Westbury Hotel retained its ranking as the most clamped street. It was followed by the South Circular Road and Merrion Square South.
The top reason for vehicles being clamped was because motorists failed to pay while in a parking bay.
It comes as parking charges are set to rise by an average of 10 per cent in the city from next week.
Yellow zone parking, which is in the heart of the city centre and at the highest rate, will move from €3.20 per hour to €3.50.
