Republic of Ireland under-19 striker Ali Reghba has joined Leicester City from Bohemians for an undisclosed fee.

The teenager, who was born in Germany to an Algerian dad and Irish mother, shot to prominence by scoring twice on his League of Ireland debut in a 3-1 win for the Gypsies against St Pat's last season.

Reghba was also a star for Bohemians under-19 side, netting the winner in the League final at their rivals Shamrock Rovers and also playing a key role in their UEFA Youth League campaign.

He impressed on trial at Premier League side Leicester last winter, playing for their under-23s and scoring in a win over Swansea before signing a short-term deal at Dalymount Park in January.

He's played just three times in the Airtricity League this campaign and confirmed last week that a move to England was in the pipeline.

Reghba says he'll always be thankful to the Phibsboro club for their role in his development.

"Some big big memories that will stay with me forever and very thankful for all the coaches and staff that have helped on my journey to where I am now. Made some friends for life on the way too.

Bohs boss Keith Long says they're wishing the teenager well in England.

“Everyone at Bohemians wishes Ali the very best of luck in his move and in Armenia with the under-19s.

"He’s a successful graduate of our under-19s and underage system and we wish him the very best for the future."
